LO$T

Do you ever get frustrated with your finances? Sometimes it seems like money is one of those necessary evils. I think most people are LO$T when it comes to money. Interestingly, though- we find in the Bible that Jesus talked a lot about money- how to spend it, save it, give it, earn it, etc. In this series, we look at what Jesus says to those who are LO$T and what he suggests to do differently.

Growing Up Is Hard To Do

Jesus said "... you must change ...". Change can be scary, even stressful. Are you a casual Christian? God wants you to grow spiritually to experience all He has in store for you, and He wants to help you do it.

The Messiah Chronicles

As we prepare for Christmas, the Bible encourages us to find hope as we wait for the return of Christ. The people of Jesus’ day were waiting for a Messiah to rescue them and give them the peace, power, and prosperity they had always dreamed of. They waited for his appearing- his Advent. That Messiah was Jesus, born on Christmas Day. In this message series, “The Messiah Chronicles” we will look at how the Bible encourages with hope as we patiently wait for Jesus’ return- his second Advent.

Back to Church

Why is it that the best habits are the easiest to break? In this series, Pastor Jason examines how going to church every Sunday is not just good religious practice, but is a source of blessings and is a vital part of a growing and active faith.

Popular Truths?

In this series, Pastor Jason examines statements that are commonly believed to be true and compares them to the teachings of the Bible. "I was saved as a child, so I'm good, right?" "It doesn't matter what you believe, as long as you are sincere." "I am having a really bad day; God must be punishing me." We hear statements like this on a regular basis. In fact, we believe they are true- mostly because we hear them so often. But are they true? How do these popular truths compare to the ultimate and final source of truth, the Bible? In each message of this series, Pastor Jason compares one popular truth to the truth of the Bible. Listen and find out how the truths match up.

Love Wins

On February 8, Pastor Jason shared the first message in this series. Inspiration for the series came from Rob Bell, pastor of the Mars Hill Bible Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this series, we are discovering that every time Jesus was hurt by those around him, he responded in love. Even though his enemies killed him, He won in the end by rising from the dead. “When someone does the worst possible evil against you (they kill you) and you survive, then you win!” Jesus won! Jesus’ way was to love. Therefore, LOVE WINS! In the coming weeks we will look at how the Bible teaches us to love God and others, and that love always wins!

Football & Faith

Every year on Super Bowl Sunday, we have a special service. We call it the greatest pre-game show in America. This year's featured guest speaker was former NFL Pro linebacker, Anthony Davis. Anthony played for the Kansas City Chiefs back in the day (with Joe Montana, Marcus Allen, Deron Cherry, Derrick Thomas). He later played for the Baltimore Ravens when they won the Super Bowl in 2001. Anthony shares his NFL story and the personal struggles he went through that led him to leave the NFL and find God. He is now the linebacker coach at MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Ks. Thanks for coming and sharing Anthony!

Faith Enough to Finish

Have you ever started strong, gone great for awhile and then not finished what you started? For instance a New Year's resolution, or a project around the house. In this series, Pastor Jason discusses how common this problem is and why we often fall short. God wants us to be successful and with his help we can have Faith Enough to Finish.

The Reason for My Faith

Have you ever wondered, "how can I know this Bible is really God's truth or that Jesus really is the Son of God? How can I know that Jesus really is the way to heaven and not all the other religions? How do I know that God even exists? Does it make sense to be a follower of Jesus?" In this series, Jason demonstrates reason and faith are not opposites - and in fact that science, logic and reason suggest that faith makes more sense than the alternatives. Regardless of what you believe, you owe it to yourself to listen to these two messages.

Special Bible Series

Pastor Jason challenged everyone at New Vision Church to read through the entire Bible in 2008. He started with a message, Why read the Bible? the first Sunday in January. In February, he did a four part series entitled, Can I Trust My Bible? In September, when we were ready to start the New Testament, we were encouraged by, The Bible - God's Food for Hungry Souls. And on the first Sunday of 2009, he wrapped up the series with, Transformed by the Word. Lives were changed as people grew closer to God. We have compiled Jason's seven messages into this special Bible series.

Did you know the number of new Bibles that are sold, given away, or otherwise distributed in the United States is about 168,000 per day? Or that the Bible can be read aloud in just 70 hours? The Bible has been translated into over12,00 languages! The Bible is the top selling book of all time - estimated at more than 6 billion copies. The best selling historical novel of all time is A Tale of Two Cities, by Charles Dickens has sold just 200 million copies.

Have you ever read the entire Bible? If not, we encourage you to do so, you can do it in 15 minutes a day for a year, and it can change your life for eternity.
