L.I.F.E. Groups

When a person experiences God’s love and the forgiveness of their sins through Jesus, they become a new person. But that is only the beginning. Jesus called his disciples to lay down their nets and follow him. In other words, Christianity is a lifelong adventure of following Jesus every day. One of our goals is to help every Christ-follower develop in their faith. We do this by providing a variety of opportunities for growth, worship, and service. Our Sunday worship services are a great place to worship and learn God’s Word. However, most Christians find that one Sunday morning each week is not enough.

We have found that a weekly gathering of eight to twelve people is a great way to supplement the spiritual growth that happens on Sundays.  We call them L.I.F.E. groups.  L.I.F.E. stands for Living In Faith Everyday.  L.I.F.E. groups meet every week, either in homes or at the church.

Topics

Our L.I.F.E. groups follow a varied and balanced curriculum of Bible-book studies and topical studies. Each study lasts between 6-8 weeks. Hold your mouse over the image to see a description of the study topic.

• In-Depth Bible Study

Each L.I.F.E. group meeting includes a time of teaching and Bible Study. Most studies use DVD’s featuring teaching by Pastor Jason or other qualified Bible teachers.

• Bible Discussion and Application

It is not enough to just listen to a Bible teacher. Most of us need to discuss what we have heard and find answers to our questions. We also need to apply the truth found in the Bible to our daily lives. Every meeting includes a discussion about how each person will live out what they have learned.

• Prayer

Every meeting includes a time of prayer. Group members talk to God about what they have learned and how they are feeling challenged to apply God’s Word. Group members also share personal prayer requests and needs.

• Fellowship & Care

In L.I.F.E. groups we learn that following Christ is never a private matter, but happens in community with other Christians. While we may know the names of the people who worship with us on Sundays, we cannot develop deep and lasting friendships with everyone. However, in the intimate setting of a L.I.F.E. group, as we share prayer requests and talk about how we can live out God’s word, we develop close friendships that will last a lifetime.

When the Game is Over,
It All Goes Back in the Box

Today is the day you choose . . . . . . which game you want to win. . . . which prize you want to collect. . . . which priorities you want to set. It's a thrill to win at checkers or Clue or Trivial Pursuit. You sweep aside the other players and you 'own' the board. It's also a thrill to win a promotion at work ... the new house you wanted ... that sports car you've always eyed. But just like the game cards, the tokens, and the timer, those prizes are temporary. When the game is over, they all go back in the box. Using popular games as a metaphor for our temporal lives, this six-session DVD curriculum neatly sorts out what's fleeting and what's permanent in God's kingdom. Being Master of the Board is not the point; being rich toward God is. Winning the game of life on Earth is a temporary victory; loving God and other people with all our hearts is an eternal one.
