Our Denomination

New Vision Church is a member of the international Church of the Nazarene. The mission of the Church of the Nazarene is “to make Christlike disciples in the nations.” The Church of the Nazarene is an evangelical, protestant church committed to encouraging and teaching its members to live holy lives in a sinful world. Organized in 1908, the Church of the Nazarene is now home to more than 1.8 million members worshiping in almost 23,000 local congregations in 151 world areas. The Church supports over 790 missionaries serving around the world. Nazarenes support 11 liberal arts institutions in Africa, Canada, Korea, and the United States, as well as 3 graduate seminaries, 38 undergraduate Bible/theological colleges, 3 nurses training colleges, 1 junior college, and 1 education college worldwide. Additional information about the denomination, its government, and programs can be found at nazarene.org. New Vision Church of the Nazarene is part of the Kansas City District, lead by Rev. Jeren Rowell. Additional information about the Kansas City District Church of the Nazarene can be found at kcdistrict.org.

As a member of the Church of the Nazarene, New Vision financially supports the global work of the denomination. Just as individual members are expected to give a tithe to their local church, New Vision gives thirteen percent of all undesignated offerings received to global ministries, district ministries, retirement benefits, and our regional educational institution, MidAmerica Nazarene University (mnu.edu).

Are you new to the area? Or maybe just curious about our church? This is a great starting point for anyone unfamiliar with our church.
We believe that every child can learn about God and can live for God.
